Finish is a maintenance decision

Mirror polish photographs beautifully and then shows every fingerprint. Brushed steel is the pragmatic choice for a room that is reset daily, because it absorbs handling rather than recording it.

Made to the floor plan

Restaurant floors are rarely a standard size. Most of this range is made to drawing, which is also how a banqueting suite gets tables that match the existing banquette rather than approximating it.

Where it does not belong

Outdoor and poolside settings, and kitchens with heavy chlorine exposure, need a different grade or a different material. We will say so rather than sell the standard finish into a situation it will not survive.

Keeping the finish

Stainless steel does not need much, but the two things that damage it are avoidable and both come from cleaning routines rather than from use.

Neutral detergent and a soft cloth; rinse and dry rather than leaving detergent to sit
Avoid chlorine-based cleaners, which attack the passive layer and leave pitting
For brushed finishes, wipe along the grain to avoid visible cross-scratches

Will stainless steel rust?

The grades we supply are chosen for interior hospitality use. Chlorine-based cleaning and coastal salt air are the two things that shorten the finish's life, and both are manageable with the right grade and routine.

Polished or brushed — which shows wear better?

Brushed finishes hide fingerprints and fine scratches; mirror polish looks sharper when new and shows handling. For high-traffic restaurant floors, brushed is usually the better long-term choice.

Can tables be made to a drawing?

Yes. This range is largely made to order because restaurant floor plans rarely fit standard sizes. Send a drawing or dimensions and we quote against it.
