What decides lifespan

Three things, in order

A banquet chair is judged by how it looks on the first night and how it looks after three hundred. The second number is decided by three components, and only one of them is visible.

1. The fabric

Contract-grade fabric is the difference between a chair that still looks sharp in year three and one that has been recovered twice. It is also where buyers try to save money, and where the saving is usually lost.

2. The foam

Low-density foam collapses under repeated loading, and once a seat has flattened the chair reads as old no matter how good the frame is. Density and thickness are worth specifying explicitly rather than leaving to the supplier.

3. The frame

Ballroom chairs get dragged, tipped and stacked. A welded steel frame that has been properly dressed will outlast several sets of upholstery — which is exactly why the seat should be serviceable.

Colour consistency across repeat orders

Hotels rarely buy a ballroom's worth of chairs in one go. They buy 80 now, 80 next year, and expect the fabric to match. We record the fabric reference and lot against your account so the second order is not a colour-matching exercise.

Specification first, then batches

1. Fabric reference

Send the venue's fabric or a photograph of the room. We confirm what is available in contract grade.

2. Sample chair

Approve the chair in the actual room, or at least under its lighting, before the first batch.

3. Repeat batches

10–25 working days per batch, with the fabric reference held on file for the next order.

How do I choose the fabric?

Start from the venue's existing library if it has one — matching an established scheme is worth more than a new idea. We can work from a fabric reference or send a card of options in contract-grade weights.

Will a repeat order match the first batch?

That is the point of ordering in batches rather than in ones. Colour consistency across repeat orders is agreed at the specification stage and the fabric lot is confirmed with each PO.

How many banquet chairs stack?

It depends on the frame and the upholstery depth; a standard upholstered banquet chair stacks in smaller numbers than a bare Chiavari frame. We confirm the figure per model.
